Inventor Peter Brewin came up with a smart shower that can save the average household about $900 a year. As a superior alternative to well known slow flow showers that compromise comfort and fail to save energy, Brewin’s water circulating shower is able to work with 70% less water and energy than traditional showers.
Brewin uses pasteurization as a purification method to cleanse the water and make it safe for shower use. His recycling shower cleans, filters and pasteurizes the water in 30 seconds before immediate re-use. Pasteurization is the process that makes milk safe to drink, meaning the re-circulated water is very hygienic. When you turn the shower off, it drains itself completely before the next user.
Above all its other clever features, this smart shower is incredibly eco-friendly. Besides performing a whooping 70% reduction in water and energy consumption, it only heats the water it uses, avoiding wasted heat with stored hot water. In addition the shower flushes itself after every use and has a built in chlorine filter, will never run cold no matter how many people use it, has personal pre-sets for each family member and features remote control option.
The product will become available starting sometime in 2013. Check out Brewin’s recycling shower and the company Brewin licensed his innovation to by visiting
